Kampf Schneid- und Wickeltechnik condemns war of aggression in Ukraine

The world's largest manufacturer of slitting and winding machines is deeply dismayed by the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine and appeals for peace, solidarity, democracy and joint action.

The war in Ukraine is shaking Europe and also has an impact on Kampf Schneid- und Wickeltechnik GmbH & Co. "Our thoughts are with the people in and from Ukraine. With the many millions who have fled as well as with those who continue to hold out in the country. The attack on our European neighbour in violation of international law is causing immeasurable suffering. Families have been forcibly separated, countless men, women and children have lost everything - and the misery continues to grow every day," says Lutz Busch as Chair of the Board.  "The new geopolitical situation also has an impact on our actions. As a globally operating company, we have stopped our Russian activities for the time being."

However, the consequences of the war extend beyond that for the technology leader. The development of steel prices is already making it more difficult for the successful company, which employs almost 700 people worldwide, to continue to meet global demand at its usual prices.

"The Russian attack has permanently thrown the geopolitical situation out of balance. The long-term changes that will result are not yet foreseeable today. But however the world develops, as a company we will adapt to it," adds Managing Director and COO Markus Vollmer. "The focus for us now, however, is on the situation of those affected. We thank all the helpers throughout Europe for their tireless efforts in providing unbureaucratic care for the more than three million people who have now fled. As a company, we also support the civil society commitment of our employees and send a clear signal for peace and non-violence."

Kampf has therefore decided to launch a fundraising campaign among all employees and, as a company, to double the amount raised. All the money will then be donated to the Wiehl Refugee Aid, which supports the care of war victims in and from Ukraine.
